Happy Birthday Jasper and Jacob!!

Happy birthday to our boys!!! Two years old!! We celebrated by taking the boys to the zoo with Heather, who is staying with us. The zoo was a lot of fun and boys got to do a lot of walking.

We started with the northern trek this time at the Cleveland zoo because we rarely make it up all the way there. The boys loved the giraffes, bears, and birds.

On the way out, we stopped at the gift shop and Heather bought the boys lollipops. Jacob's got broken before we opened it, so he had his in pieces on the ride home. Jasper was determined to eat it all. He worked on it on the ride home and long after we got home.

To get the boys to nap, I tried give them a walk in their stroller. We walked for an hour and half. Jasper eventually went to sleep but Jacob did not.

After we got home, we let Jasper sleep in stroller a little bit. Then went for ice cream. Jasper woke up but fell back asleep in car along with Jacob. They missed out on ice cream but Heather bought them a pint to take home.

When we got home, we had cake and they had their ice cream with. We then went outside and they played in the water ball sprinkler.

Needless to stay they had an an action packed birthday!!!

We all chased them around the table when we got back in. Right now, I'm trying to put them to bed.

Phone home

Last week, Jasper was loving his play phone. He would talk into it and walk in and out of the living room. He had a good conversation with Elmo, the type of play phone they have.

So Monday on the ride home from work, I called and Joy tried to give them the phone to see if they would talk in it. Jacob seemed to take control of the phone. He was talking up a storm. I would say "dada" and he would repeat it. I asked him where his nose was and he touched his nose. Joy had to tell that.

Wednesday, I talked to Jasper more on the phone. He was a little more reserved but he did he did talk a bit. I got him to sing "Ahh." I stated singing to him and he dropped the phone and ran off. Jacob took the phone and after I stated singing, he dropped the phone and ran off. Little critics! :-)

Wednesday night, we went to the library to have baby time. This time, there was another couple there with their 13 month old. We were hoping the boys would interact more with the little girl but they all seemed to be independent.

The boys loved rolling the ball back and forth with the librarian and marching around the room. The librarian brought out bubbles, which Jasper loved. He stood right by the bubble maker.

Yesterday, it was hottest day we've had in 16 years. So after dinner, we took a family trip to dairy queen. The boys shared dq ice cream sandwich, which they ate on the ride home. When we got home, I gave them a bath and Joy took all the fabric off the car seats to be washed.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream

Early this week, we stopped at the local grocery store, Acme and I raced out to purchase some cookies and cream ice cream.

When we got home, I got Joy and I a cup of ice cream. I brought it back to the couch and gave a spoon of it to Jasper. Jasper made a yucky face, I believe because he wasn't expected something cold. Shortly after his first bite, he was ready for another.

After a couple spoon servings, Jacob got wind of what was going on and came over. He gave the same first response, a yucky face but ready for more.

I was then giving Jasper a spoon serving, then me, then Jacob, then me, etc. Before long, the ice cream was gone. Jacob was not happy! He freaked out when there wasn't any more ice cream. I had to hold him till he calmed down.

Since ice cream doesn't last very long in our house, the same event repeated for the next couple nights.

I almost thought they were like little zombies; gaining up and trying to eat my brains but instead it was ice cream. As soon as it was gone Jacob would flip. I told him "I feel the same way" when the ice cream is out.

So needless to say, they love their ice cream just like their momma and papa.

It will be a lot of taking the boys out for ice cream this summer.
