Choo and slide

Choo choo is in full effect!!! Yesterday, the boys found out Joy can draw trains. Joy said they kept bringing her blank pages so she would draw a choo choo.

Last night, I got them to finally settle down and go to sleep by playing videos of trains on my phone off YouTube. Jacob woke up around 5 this morning very unhappy. When he finally settle down and got some fishes, he handed me my phone and said "choo." So cute and funny!




After gymnastics on Sunday. We bought the boys a 4ft slide and put it in our living room. Are we not the coolest parents?? Joy put it together while I tried to put the boys to sleep on a walk/library stroller ride.

Boys ended up getting cake at the library because the library was celebrating their anniversary.

The boys we're thrilled with the slide. They slid themselves down and cars. Jasper loves sitting on the top especially when watching tv. He just chills up there. There is also a tent under the slide that they love.




Sunday, I took the boys to the mall to get indians tickets. I blasted music on the way. At first Jasper said "no." Then I asked them both if they hear the drum and I started pretending I was hitting drums (while at a stop light). They then started mimicking. I later saw Jasper nodding, like headbanging while Jacob drummed.




Monday, we had a dance party. All of us were dancing to the Beatles. We all had fun, dancing and chasing. Joy chased the boys a lot saying "rawr!!". They laughed so hard!!!

Phone home

Last week, Jasper was loving his play phone. He would talk into it and walk in and out of the living room. He had a good conversation with Elmo, the type of play phone they have.

So Monday on the ride home from work, I called and Joy tried to give them the phone to see if they would talk in it. Jacob seemed to take control of the phone. He was talking up a storm. I would say "dada" and he would repeat it. I asked him where his nose was and he touched his nose. Joy had to tell that.

Wednesday, I talked to Jasper more on the phone. He was a little more reserved but he did he did talk a bit. I got him to sing "Ahh." I stated singing to him and he dropped the phone and ran off. Jacob took the phone and after I stated singing, he dropped the phone and ran off. Little critics! :-)



Wednesday night, we went to the library to have baby time. This time, there was another couple there with their 13 month old. We were hoping the boys would interact more with the little girl but they all seemed to be independent.

The boys loved rolling the ball back and forth with the librarian and marching around the room. The librarian brought out bubbles, which Jasper loved. He stood right by the bubble maker.

Yesterday, it was hottest day we've had in 16 years. So after dinner, we took a family trip to dairy queen. The boys shared dq ice cream sandwich, which they ate on the ride home. When we got home, I gave them a bath and Joy took all the fabric off the car seats to be washed.

Baby time

Wednesday we took the boys to Baby Time at the Northwest library. We thought this would be a good opportunity for the boys to interact with other kids their age and also a chance for us meet some parents.

I signed up a month prior to ensure that we would get in incase it fills. When I signed up, we were the first to sign up.

When we arrived we were the only ones there. We waited around to see if more people would show up but no. It was just us and the librarian.

The boys had a really great time though! The librarian sang rhymes/songs to them, read them a story, played with puppets, marched around the room, and gave the boys shakers. The boys loved the shakers.

I can't remember if it was a story or song but one of the things the librarian did was point to her nose and other parts of the her body. We pointed either with our their hands or our hands on the boys on their bodies.

So the next day, Joy was working on getting the boys to point to their nose and say "nose." Joy said Jasper did it and said something similar to nose. Jacob did really good at pointing to his nose at dinner and when I took them for a walk at the park.

I'd say that even though we didn't get the inactions that we hoped, baby time was a success. It was really nice to get the boys into the library and to interact with the librarian. The boys had a great time and we learned a thing or two. Joy brought home the sheet with the rhymes on them to read to read to the boys.

Must Be Something in the Water

There must be something in the water where we live because it seems like everyone has twins. When Joy and I found out we were having twins, we marched ourselves straight to the book store to get every bit of information we could find. Much to our surprise, I think we only found like 2 or 3 books. I looked online to see if we could find a group. There was one but it was about 50 miles away. So naturally, we thought this is kind of uncommon.

Now that the boys are born and we take them places, it seems we keep running into people saying they have twins or we see twins. Last week, I went to the library. As I was in line, I noticed there was a set of twins in a stroller in front of me. Then as I was waking out, I noticed another set of twins in a stroller!

Over the weekend, we went Christmas shopping. We were looking at the toys when an employee stopped to see the boys. She told us she has twins too.

...one a side, she told us that the first two years are the easiest! Is this true?? I think things will get a lot easier at least for me when I get some sleep. Haha. I'm curious about this now.

Anyway back to my running into lots of twins story, I ran into another woman who said she has twin grandchildren about 5 minutes later in the same store.

So now, I'm really curious how many twins are out there in our town. Is it like this everywhere? Maybe our boys won't be the only set of twins when they go to school. Maybe it'll be weird for all the singletons being only one without a twin in class.
